Unicorn food isn't exactly a new fad. But if you've never heard of it, here's the gist – you take your favorite snack, drinks, dessert (whatever, really) and make it rainbow-colored or sparkly AF. Basically making it a lot more fun to look at and eat - and a hell of a lot more Instagrammable.

Unfortunately, though, most foods are turned into coors of the rainbow with the help of food dye, which isn't exactly healthy. But mom-of-the-year Kristen Bell just blew her followers (and the Internet at large) away with her own food hack to finally make it easy for healthy eaters to have fun-looking food, too.

Rather than using food dye, Bell shared a collage of photos showing off her rainbow grilled cheese sandwich that used veggies to create the colors she was after. The Good Place star explained in the caption that she used beet juice for the red cheese, boiled purple cabbage juice for the purple, and more purple cabbage juice with added baking soda for the blue. She chose shredded mozzarella as the cheese base, which is apparently easy to dye.

It's unclear whether this magnificent grilled cheese creation was for Bell, her husband Dax Shepard, or one of their two young daughters, Lincoln and Delta. It looks like a pretty sizable stack of Pinterest-worthy sandwiches (and rainbow-colored anything is perfect for kids), so hopefully there was plenty for everyone to share.
