Everything That Went Down at Beyoncé’s Second Coachella Performance

Beyoncé managed to top all of the artists at Coachella last weekend with a standout headlining performance that gave us sparkly fashion, ace guest appearances, and a strong social-political message (she celebrated all things black pride). If you’re still searching for the meaning behind all of her looks, we’ve got you. But on Saturday, the queen of the stage did exactly what we’d hope she would: she topped herself.

The superstar returned to California for the second weekend of Coachella and once again delivered a badass, epic performance. While her second run was unfortunately not live-streamed, eagle-eyed fans, including actresses Jessica Alba and Vanessa Hudgens, captured the whole thing on social media.

Despite Vulture suggesting that a photo of a trunk—featuring hits, like "Upgrade U," "Bills, Bills, Bills," "6 Inch, "End of Time," and "Cater 2 U"—posted on her website offered a hint at new songs to be performed the second time around, the set remained mostly untouched. Husband Jay-Z, Destiny's Child, and sister Solange all returned to the stage, but, as a surprise, J. Balvin joined the star to sing "Mi Gente."

Vogue originally reported that indeed, Balmain created an entirely different custom wardrobe for Beyoncé’s second performance, and the brand's creative director Olivier Rousteing captured his four, new creations on Instagram.

Even Bey's 100 backup dancers and band members received a sartorial refresh, swapping their bumble bee yellow uniforms for magenta variations.
