Fans filled Beaver Stadium for Penn State vs. Michigan. Where does it rank among top crowds?
Penn State football’s highly anticipated Saturday matchup nearly broke the program’s attendance record — even without the presence of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.
With Penn State’s hope to reach the Big Ten title game in the balance, an official attendance of 110,856 fans was announced inside Beaver Stadium in the third quarter. That was the second-highest attendance in stadium history, including the highest-attended home game ever in November.
“They’re loud as I-don’t-know-what,” safety KJ Winston said. “Best student section, and all our fans, in the country.”
