Fans heap praise on Taylor Swift for helping ensure that registered voters actually vote early: 'She literally invented politics'

Taylor Swift may have been reluctant to talk about politics before. But after posting about the importance of the upcoming midterm elections and inciting a spike in voter registration in her home state of Tennessee, the pop star seems to be on a roll with political posts. Now, she’s encouraging her 112 million Instagram followers to vote early.

Swift took to Instagram on Wednesday to post a few photos alongside a call for young voters to learn more about early voting — something she says she wishes she knew about when she was first old enough to vote.

The megastar included a link in her bio to the early voting calendar, which lists early voting dates and information for each state. And the effort isn’t going unnoticed.

People are praising Swift for following up on her previous post and doing her part to ensure that all those who she motivated to register don’t let their actions go to waste.

Of course, some still believe that Swift shouldn’t be getting so involved in politics and discussing her personal views, telling her to “be quiet and sing!” However, the strength of her star power is now taken into account, if only slightly, when looking at voter turnout.
