The on-field stage couldn't handle Iowa State's celebrating after the Liberty Bowl

The Liberty Bowl needs a sturdier stage next year.

The stage broke and fell a foot or so during Iowa State’s postgame celebrations after the Cyclones won the game 21-20 over Memphis.

Thankfully it wasn’t a very tall stage to begin with. And you’ve gotta love the resiliency of the Iowa State players, who are momentarily in shock when they start to drop and then immediately go back to celebrating as soon as they realized what happened.

The win was the first bowl win for the Cyclones since 2009 and the first eight-win season for the team since 2000.
