North West is adding to her already-impressive modelling resume by starring in a new campaign for Fendi.
The famous five-year-old stars alongside mother, Kim Kardashian West, and grandmother, Kris Jenner in the luxury Italian label’s #MeandMyPeekabo photo and video campaign.
The campaign features music by North’s father, Kanye West, making it a true family Fendi affair.
“We wanted to show the most genuine and authentic aspect that is behind the people we collaborate with, and the complicity between the women of the family,” Fendi CEO Serge Brunschwig said in a statement. “We have chosen to collaborate with family-related members that have been relevant in general, as well as known as a family, from the more controversial ones, who more and more express a courageous point of view and they have a vision, to more unexpected and unexplored ones. You know that at Fendi we love to dare and surprise.”
The new images will be released on Fendi’s social networks starting July 11 as a sequel to the #MeandMyPeekabo video that was created in April of this year to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary of its Peekaboo bag.
The first video from the campaign featured the relationship between the only member of the Fendi family still working for the label, creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi, and her daughters.
“The idea was to expand the concept of family, as it’s part of our history, and we wanted other families of women,” said Venturini Fendi of the new campaign. “In the case of the Kardashians, they are all three of them very strong women, with strong personalities. It’s an iconic family, who is known for its appearance, but we wanted to bring more of an intimate side to the table.”
This is the first time North West has partnered with a brand, but not her first time in front of the camera.
In 2014, an eight-month old North starred alongside her famous parents for a spread in Vogue, photographed by famed fashion photographer Annie Leibovitz.
North’s first solo modelling debut came at just 13-months-old, when she was featured in the CR Fashion Book, a bi-annual magazine by former Vogue Paris editor, Carine Roitfeld.
Prior to her campaign with Fendi, North’s most recent stint in front of the camera was with her mother for a Jackie Kennedy-inspired photoshoot for Interview magazine taken by Steven Klein.
The recent collaboration likely a result of the friendship between Venturini Fendi and Kanye West, who previously interned with Fendi in 2009.
According to Venturini Fendi, the Kardashians “well represent the concept I wanted to express. They are less controlled here; you can see they let loose, with emotions surfacing. You can tell by the way they look at one another, it’s clearly intimate.”
