Chip Gaines of 'Fixer Upper' accidentally revealed 5th child's gender on Twitter

Chip and Joanna Gaines might seem like pros when it comes to pregnancy announcements, after sharing with fans they’re expecting their fifth child in an adorable Instagram in January. But as of Wednesday morning, it looks like Chip might have made a rookie mistake (which is funny, considering he’s far from one) and let the new baby’s gender slip.

Retweeting a video originally shared by Mike Spurlock, whose son met Chip through the Tim Tebow Foundation, Chip said to fans that if somebody was going to reveal the baby’s gender, it was going to be his young fan Gage. And that he did, with a video that captured the Fixer Upper star having a conversation with Gage about what to name his and Joanna’s unborn boy.

“We’re just about to have another little baby,” Chip shared with Gage before accidentally giving away too much detail. “So can you help me come up with a D name? A boy. Is that a secret? I don’t know. That might not even be allowed on Twitter — you better keep that to yourself dude. But listen to me, it’s a little boy and I need a D name, and so far, all I could come up with was Dragon. And [Joanna’s] like, you are not calling that baby Dragon.”

Gage, who fractured all of his bones before being born, chuckled with Chip, likely not even realizing the anticipation surrounding the announcement. However, since seeing the video themselves Wednesday morning, fans have been quick to share their joy — as well as some baby name suggestions.

The couple are already parents to Drake, 12; Ella, 11; Duke, 9; and Emmie Kay; 7. And although Joanna has yet to comment publicly on the announcement, let’s just hope that Chip’s tweet was mother-approved.
