Florence Pugh Wears Semi-Sheer Gown With String swimsuit Bodice
On Saturday, Florence Pugh attended the The BoF 500 gala in a stunning black Valentino gown made from semi-sheer fabric. The dramatic skirt trailed along the red carpet in a long train while the bodice was composed of minimal fabric, forming a string bikini-style shape around her bust.
She wore the gown with black platform heels and accessorized with a gold pendant necklace studded with diamonds, her gold septum piercing, and a few rings. The Black Widow actress had her short platinum hair slicked back away from her face with a slight finger wave. Her makeup was a natural palette with pale pink lips and a smokey eye.
Pugh loves Valentino and sultry looks that display her figure. In 2022, she wore another Valentino piece in Rome that caused some controversy because of its see-through top. She told ELLE UK that she likes clothes that show her as she is.
“I'm not trying to hide the cellulite on my thigh,” she stated. “I speak the way I do about my body because I'm not trying to hide the cellulite on my thigh or the squidge in between my arm and my boob: I would much rather lay it all out....I think the scariest thing for me are the instances where people have been upset that I've shown ‘too much’ of myself.”
She added, “When everything went down with the Valentino pink dress a year ago, my nipples were on display through a piece of fabric, and it really wound people up...It's the freedom that people are scared of; the fact I'm comfortable and happy. Keeping women down by commenting on their bodies has worked for a very long time.”
“I think we're in this swing now where lots of people are saying, ‘I don't give a sh-t,’” she continued. “Unfortunately, we've become so terrified of the human body that we can't even look at my two little cute nipples behind fabric in a way that isn't sexual...We need to keep reminding everybody that there is more than one reason for women's bodies [to exist].”
