Former Canucks' draft bust nets unbelievable shootout goal in the KHL

With his soft hands, Nicklas Jensen would likely make quite the masseuse if he wasn’t playing hockey for Jokerit Helsinki of the KHL.

He put his nasty mitts on display during a shootout against Amur Khabarovsk in regular season action on Thursday. After sixty minutes of play and overtime solved nothing, the 29th overall pick in the 2011 NHL draft opened the ‘breakaway challenge’ with this ridiculous move.

The 25-year-old from Denmark baited goaltender Marek Langhamer by swinging the puck out to his right with one hand, brought it back the other way and nicely chipped it over the sprawling netminder’s pad on the left.

Jensen last played in the NHL during the 2016-17 season when he skated in seven games for the New York Rangers. In his 33 NHL contests with the Rangers and Vancouver Canucks, he collected three goals and six points.

Jensen also scored in regulation during the contest. He now has 15 goals and 31 points in 36 games this season.
