Lori Loughlin is officially back to acting, and she just booked her first movie since the college admissions scandal in 2019.

On September 22, Great American Country Media (GAC) officially announced that Lori will be starring in her first romantic comedy film with the network. Titled Fall Into Winter, it is expected to premiere in January 2023 and will be a part of GAC Family's yearly winter programming.

"Lori is a genre-defining star that I have had the honor to call a close friend and collaborator for more than 15 years," Bill Abbott, president and CEO of Great American Media, said in an official statement. "We have a shared vision for creating meaningful and memorable movies that resonate with our passionate fans, and I look forward to welcoming her back to Great American Family to anchor our 2023 winter programming slate."

As soon as the news hit the internet, GAC fans immediately swarmed social media to wish Lori a big congratulations on her role with the up-and-coming network.

"Finally ... welcome back Lori," one fan wrote on Instagram. "👏❤️ I’m so excited for her to be back. I was hoping GAC would have her in movies," another follower commented. "I am so happy for Lori Loughlin. I can’t wait to see this movie and her. Bravo GAC for casting such a wonderful actress! 😍😍😍😍," a different fan added.

So what will Fall Into Winter be about? According to People, Lori will play a woman named Keely who is "aghast when her brother sells his half of their family-owned, upscale candy shop to his best friend from high school (and her nemesis, Brooks) forcing a sudden urgency to find connection and common ground." Per GAC, the two characters are more alike than they realize. "Fate brings the pair together. Might it also offer new beginnings?" the description concludes.

Despite this being the first movie Lori is doing with GAC, this isn't her first time working with the network. After Hallmark cut ties with the When Calls the Heart actress in October 2021, she reprised her role as Abigail Stanton in the season 2 premiere of the GAC spinoff When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas in December of that year. This news also comes after Hallmark made the surprising move to quietly bring back Lori's Garage Sale Mysteries films to their channel.

Lori isn't the only Full House cast member to make the big jump from Hallmark to GAC. Back in April, Candace Cameron Bure announced she would be switching networks, and she recently opened up about what happened that played a factor in the big decision.

"The truth is I’ve been under contract with Hallmark for a very, very long time. And those have been absolutely wonderful," she told Variety in September. "It just so happened that my contract was expiring when Great American Family started up. So we did not start having those discussions until we were well into negotiations with Hallmark Channel for renewing. And as every business person knows, you’ve got to do what’s right for contracts."
