With COVID-19 sweeping through the NBA and sidelining a majority of the Toronto Raptors’ roster, fans and players alike are anxious to get past this latest wave of infections and get the stars back on the court.

Despite the setbacks of a positive Covid test, some players are making the most of their time spent away from their teams.

On Wednesday afternoon, Fred VanVleet’s wife, Shontai Neal, posted an adorable Instagram story of the Raptors guard putting his two and a half year old son through a basketball drill in the family living room.

It’s good to see that VanVleet is not only working on his potential career as a coach, but also grooming the next generation of Raptors while he isolates at home.

VanVleet entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols on Dec. 21. He is one of many Raptors who have been struck by the coronavirus recently, including the likes of Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes and OG Anunoby.

The 27-year-old was as active as can be while sidelined, often live-tweeting Toronto’s games and cheering on his teammates from the comforts of home.

VanVleet, Barnes and Anunoby returned to practice on Thursday after clearing COVID protocols, putting them on track to suit up Friday in Toronto against the Los Angeles Clippers.
