Photos of this year's big winners at their very first Golden Globes

The Golden Globes started in 1944 and have been regarded as one of the most fun Hollywood award shows. Celebrity fashion at the awards has really evolved, and in 2018 in particular, the majority of celebrities wore black in honor of the Time’s Up movement.

This year, a number of attendees made a repeat appearance. Oprah first attended the awards show in 1986, and Laura Dern in 1982, when she was Miss Golden Globe. You know your style evolves during your years in high school and college. Now check out the major fashion evolutions that happened with each celebrity during their “freshman” and “senior” years at the Golden Globes.

…and in 2018 she wore a stunning high-neck dress.

Oprah‘s speech at the 2018 Golden Globes wasn’t the only thing that had people talking. Her velvet dress was one for the ages.

And in 1986 the mogul rocked an entirely pale pink ensemble.

In 1997 Helen Mirren‘s hat definitely took center stage.

But this year, the 72-year-old’s black dress had some pretty revealing paneling.
