Watch: Gabby Logan discusses husband Kenny Logan's 'awful' cancer operation
Gabby Logan has opened up about her husband Kenny's battle with prostate cancer.
Talking to Bartlett about finding out Kenny had cancer, Logan said: "He [Kenny] was really upset as you can imagine and I just thought, 'Right no, this is going to be absolutely fine, what are we going to do? What are the answers here?'"
Logan was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early 2022 and later had an operation to remove the prostate to prevent the spread of the disease.
The former Final Score presenter also discussed the severity of her husband's operation: "That's what we did really, once we got over the initial shock, we just really kind of focused on it as a project we had to deal with and it's a bloody awful operation."
She added: "It's horrible to see him in the pain he was afterwards, it's a horrible thing to go through but he's doing really really well now."
The Logan family have been praised by Prostate Cancer UK for sharing Kenny's experience publicly.
The chief executive for the charity said: “We want to thank Kenny, and the Logan family, for sharing his diagnosis publicly and using this as a moment to increase awareness of the most common cancer in men. We at Prostate Cancer UK know first-hand the impact that a public figure speaking out like this can make.”
Kenny Logan was diagnosed at age 50 and prostate cancer is most common in men over 50. It is a slow growing form of cancer so it is possible to have a tumour for a long time before noticing any symptoms.
Symptoms of prostate cancer include an increased need to urinate, straining while urinating and a feeling that the bladder is not fully empty.
