Game of Thrones has unveiled a new look at the final episode of the TV version of the Song of Ice and Fire saga.

HBO is understandably trying to hold back the surprises because there have only been two promo photos released this week.

The first of these two photos shows Daenerys addressing the Unsullied forces as King's Landing continues to smoulder in the background after her dragon attack in 'The Bells'.

In the second photo, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) looks deeply concerned as he stands among the wreckage - and he certainly has several reasons to be worried.

First and foremost, Tyrion was once again made a terrible judgment call in continuing to back Daenerys even after finding out about Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) true heritage as a secret Targaryen.

That decision ultimately played a huge role in his compatriot Varys's brutal execution, the destruction of King's Landing and the deaths of his own siblings Jaime and Cersei in the assault on the Red Keep.

Now, he's left with Daenerys in total control and likely out for his head for letting Jaime of his prison cell in the first place. So yes, Tyrion's frown is entirely understandable.

Heading into this weekend's series finale, fan theories continue to run wild. Some suspect Arya's white horse will be the key while others are banking on Jon Snow standing up to Daenerys.

Game of Thrones season 8 airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK. Tune in to Digital Spy's Game of Thrones livestreams on Monday evenings, straight after each episode, on Instagram and Facebook.
