The giant backpack is now officially a thing, so for anyone who needs to carry around multiple pens, a gym kit and, why not, a couple of humans, your dreams have finally come true.

Backpackers’ brand CWF have produced this physical incarnation of a Mary Poppins bag: a rucksack so large it is bigger than the wearer.

Sold on Japanese e-commerce site, Plywood, the 180-litre bag could be yours for a modest £190 (that’s almost a pound per litre of back-breaking storage).

It comes in three neutral shades – beige, navy and khaki – although the wearer is unlikely to blend in with this look.

While some will no doubt be put off by the sheer massiveness of this bag, others might see it as a welcome opportunity to carry around all their belongings.

Someone selling the ‘Backpacker’s Closet’ bag on Facebook also described it as ‘indispensable for outdoors’, explaining it has capacity for all manner of camping equipment.

The bag choice is even multi-purpose, with one image featuring the wearer resting their head against the giant rucksack-cum-beanbag.

This isn’t the only example of larger-than-life fashion we have seen as of late. Last month, Ezra Miller stepped out in a floor-length puffer dress by luxury brand Moncler.

Last year also saw a trend for supersized celebrity red carpet dresses, with everyone from Lady Gaga to Jennifer Lopez stepped out in larger than life gowns.
