Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid rule the runway at Tommy Hilfiger, and the collection is selling out fast
It’s a family affair at the latest Tommy Hilfiger fashion show, where Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid opened the designer’s show during London Fashion Week on Tuesday evening.
Both Gigi and Bella walked twice during the show, with Gigi’s finale look encompassing a rock ’n’ roll-style black studded sports bra, sheer metallic floral maxi dress, and leather shorts.
Although Kaia and Presley Gerber made their first runway debut together at the Burberry show, Presley walked the Tommy show sans sister Kaia. It was apparent that it was a full-fledged Hadid show. The Hadids and Kaia were joined by other top models, such as Hailey Baldwin, Ruth Bell, Joan Smalls, and Lucky Blue Smith. The front row featured an all-star cast including soccer star Neymar and racecar driver Lewis Hamilton, who were sitting alongside models Poppy Delevingne and Lara Stone.
This season marks Gigi Hadid’s third collaborative runway collection with the American designer, who went global this year, staging his show in London during LFW versus New York. Past Tommy x Gigi collections took place at piers in New York and Los Angeles.
The entire show had a circus theme, dubbed #TommyNow Rock Circus. The show took place at the iconic Roundhouse music venue, which has housed several famed concerts from artists including the Rolling Stones, the Ramones, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd. Hilfiger blended the venue’s music history and theatrical space into a full-fledged circus hall coupled with acrobatic performers and what else but a rock ’n’ roll-style collection.
Key pieces included the metallic floral printed dresses that Gigi and Bella wore, signature Hilfiger flag-printed sweatshirts, mohair dresses, plaid coats (a popular trend this season), and studded leather cropped jackets. The Tommy x Gigi collections have always been popular with customers, especially as the show still follows the “see now, buy now” model.
Last season, several pieces from the collection started selling out even before the show started. Within a few hours of this season’s show ending, several items had already sold out or had low inventory.
Our favorite pieces? The Colorblock Pleated Midi Skirt and the Block Stripe Cropped Sweater. They both have already lost their XL sizing option, but we predict that at this rate, the other sizes will go fast.
In fact, within the course of writing this story, the Gigi Hadid Sequin Stripe Jeans and the Rock Stud Pointed Flats both sold out, despite having more than three sizes available only an hour earlier. See the screenshots as evidence below.
A slew of items are still available on the site, including the studded sports bra that Gigi wore in the show, fall-ready tartan outerwear, and turtleneck sweaters, as well as rocker-style tees emblazoned with Tommy’s or Gigi’s name. But they might not be there tomorrow.
