From ELLE

When Donatella Versace announced on Instagram on Friday 'tonight will be maximalist', let's face it, we didn't think much of it.

After all, the Italian fashion legend has long delivered when it comes to serving up bold print-on-prints, contrasting textures in bright colours, and iconic fashion moments (remember last year's spectacular '90s supermodel moment?).

However, last night's promise of 'more is more' appeared not only to refer to the brand's hotly-anticipated collection - with Crayola-coloured florals, ice-cream hue printed denim, doo-dat charm handbag chains - but also to its faces on the runway.

For Versace's SS19 show, the most in-demand supermodels since the '90s took to the catwalk, including the likes of *deep breathe* Freja Beha Erichsen, Anya Rubik, Binx Walton, Natasha Poly, Mariacarla Boscono, Irina Shayk and Stella Tennant, among several others.

A new generation of beauties also graced the catwalk with runway looks debuted from model-of-the-moment Kaia Gerber, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Emily Ratajkowski.

At the end of the night, Nineties supermodel du jour Shalom Harlow closed the show, making it her first runway appearance in six years since her casting at Alexander Wang's AW12 show.

Following the fashion show, ELLE's editor-in-chief Anne-Marie Curtis said: 'I loved the exuberance of it and the freshness. The models looked super sexy but in such a playful, positive way. They were really owning it and it felt so joyful.'

When it came to the collection, she added: 'There were a lot of great pieces you'd want to own. I thought the floral dresses and the Gypsy Queens section of the show really captured one of the key moods of the season.'

Now, this is the kind of 'extra' we're craving in our wardrobes right now.
