Is it any surprise that Gigi Hadid’s wardrobe is providing endless style inspiration this season? Since founding Guest in Residence in 2022, the supermodel has regularly been seen in plush and colourful knit offerings straight from her cashmere brand. But, while her knits are always eye-catching, the item that’s really captivating our attention from her latest look isn’t her jumper, but her unexpected choice of bottoms.

On Saturday, Hadid hosted the opening party for a new Guest in Residence location in Los Angeles, where she showed up looking fabulously festive in a mocha brown iteration of her cable knit vest layered atop a brown, red, and white striped rugby shirt. The real showstopper, however, was her espresso fur miniskirt, which featured an umber leather waistband.

Hadid’s footwear tied back to her retro top; she stepped out in a pair of black, white and red leather loafers. She finished the festive outfit off with some sheer tights, a cream handbag from Loro Piana, pearl drop earrings, and a diamond tennis necklace.

At the event, Hadid met up with some familiar faces, like her dad and brother, Mohamed and Anwar Hadid. Fellow model Hailey Bieber also stopped by en route to a girls’ night out with Kylie Jenner.

Hadid previously talked to Harper’s Bazaar about the ethos behind Guest in Residence. 'I didn’t think of it as pieces that were bought and worn by one person, but like, How can these pieces be passed down?' she said back in September 2022. As for how her personal style has influenced her brand’s taste, she added, 'My goal in life is to look as chic or put together as possible while always being comfortable. I very rarely, even on red carpets, will wear things that I feel uncomfortable in throughout the event because I just feel like I can't be myself as much when I'm thinking about what I'm wearing in that way.'
