Gogglebox's Jenny Newby 'doing well' after undergoing surgery
Gogglebox star Jenny Newby is recovering after undergoing surgery for a minor illness.
The 65-year-old reality star was absent from the latest episode of the Channel 4 show and best friend Lee Riley revealed she has not been well.
Riley told the Daily Star on the red carpet at the TV Baftas: "She is not very well, she is having an operation, a mini one, but she is recovering well though.

"She was invited but the appointment was in Bafta week. You can't turn down an NHS operation down can you? But she is doing well."
Riley attended the 2022 TV Baftas ceremony in London along with new stars of Gogglebox Mica Ven and Marcus Luther to accept the Reality and Constructed Factual award.
It is the fourth time Gogglebox has been nominated for the award and the second time it has won the gong.
Best friends Riley and Newby joined the TV comment show on series four in 2014 and usually appear in Newby's caravan in Hull.
But they were conspicuous by their absence on Friday 6 May from the latest episode of the show, which is now in its 19th series.
Riley, 52, divides his time between Hull and Cyprus, where he lives with his partner of 26 years, Steve Mail.
Newby has previously revealed that she and Riley became friends after meeting in a pub where she was landlady.
She said: "Lee was a customer at my pub. He became a regular in 1994 and used to come in pretty much every night with his partner and we were friends from the off. We’ve been best friends ever since.”
Newby was initially headhunted to take part in Gogglebox, but she asked Riley to join her.
He explained: “She asked me if I wanted to sit and do a test filming with her. I’d never seen Gogglebox, it had only just started, so I walked into filming swearing my head off because she’d got me out of bed on my day off.”
Gogglebox viewers complained to Ofcom last month after the show aired a sexual scene involving a woman and a duck.
A recent episode saw some of the armchair critics watching a bit of Roar, a feminist anthology series on Apple+ TV that is based on a collection of short stories, including one called 'The Woman Who Was Fed By A Duck'.
The Gogglebox cast could not believe their eyes when one scene saw a woman and a duck gearing up for an intimate moment.
