Goldie Hawn, 72, steals the fashion spotlight in one-shoulder gown

The 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards only featured female presenters on Sunday night. And while Brie Larson, Halle Berry, Gina Rodriguez and more actresses delivered their lines and nailed their jokes, it was Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson that really made a mark.

The mother-daughter pair presented for the first time together and while they’ve been asked to do so multiple times, they finally said yes for an important reason — girl power.

“It’s actually a seminal moment, historically, and I think that what we wish is that it continues to grow and people continue to have more integrity, and to have an ability to be conscientious, and we raise a little bit of consciousness,” Hawn told Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t want this to be a one-off. This is a real time in history, and remember, I was there when we were at the big women’s lib moment! There was a lot of hoopla, a lot of people writing about it, but at this point in time, we’re talking about ethics, we’re talking about integrity, we’re talking about many other things than just harassment.”

For the special occasion, Hudson opted for a pink Maison Valentino gown covered in black hearts. The skirt featured tears of sheer fabric with ruffled hemlines and the same detailing trimmed the neckline.

As for Hawn, she went with a less covered-up and cutesy look. While Hudson had on long sleeves, her mother went with a one-shoulder silhouette.

The 72-year-old was called “perfection” by the designer of the turquoise gown, Monique Lhuillier — an opinion surely held by many.
