The Great British Bake Off crowned another winner in this week's Stand Up to Cancer celebrity special as actress Jessica Hynes followed David Schwimmer by winning Star Baker.

Jessica was competing against TOWIE star Gemma Collins, comedian Tim Key and TV presenter AJ Odudu in this week's Bake Off special after Schwimmer beat Jesy Nelson, Rose Matafeo and Tom Davis last week.

In the opening challenge, the four celebs were tasked by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to make their own sandwich cakes. Jessica was the immediate favourite after this challenge as Paul and Prue loved her "save the bees" lemon drizzle cake.

"I think that's a triumph. Absolutely delicious," Prue said as both judges complimented the lightness of the cake as well as the delicate flavours. In fact, they loved it so much that Paul gave her one of his highly sought-after handshakes.

"I am pathetically happy about this, to get that compliment," Jessica said.

The next round — the blind taste test round — went equally well for Jessica. The celebs were tasked with making treacle tarts with Stand Up to Cancer lattice pastry on top and Jessica aced it. Gemma finished fourth, AJ ranked third and Jessica just pipped Tim to first place to claim another victory.

This made Jessica the clear favourite to win Star Baker going into the final challenge, which required the bakers to recreate their earliest childhood memories in choux pastry form. Gemma presented a handbag and cassette from a shopping trip to Woolworths with her mum while Tim made Stonehenge.

Meanwhile, AJ made chips with gravy, which turned out to be a hit. AJ had previously said she was dying to receive a handshake from Paul, and she got that just. But it was Jessica, who made a bonfire, who again received the biggest triumph.

After another flawless review, Jessica was named Star Baker.

"She couldn't not win it," Prue said.

The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
