Grey’s Anatomy Stars Ellen Pompeo and Kate Walsh Are Celebrating an Iconic Scene From Season One

Can you believe it's been 15 years since Grey's Anatomy introduced Addison Montgomery to throw a wrench into the romance between Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd?!

Former Grey's costars Ellen Pompeo and Kate Walsh reunited on social media to pay tribute to their characters on the anniversary of their iconic onscreen rivalry, which all began on the show's season-one finale in 2005.

Though most fans can agree that there have been many defining moments over the course of the show's 16-season run, none are as legendary as Walsh's debut as Dr. Addison Montgomery.

On Friday, May 22, Walsh posted a video of her first scene on the medical drama, in which her character shows up to Seattle Grace Hospital to see her estranged husband, Dr. Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), talking to his new love interest, Meredith. Of course, that's exactly the moment when Addison introduces herself to Meredith in the most iconic way possible: “Hi, I’m Addison Shepherd and you must be the woman who’s been screwing my husband."

"Unreal that today marks 15 years to the day since this little lady walked on to your screen and checked ya for screwing her husband," Walsh wrote on Twitter.

Pompeo quote-tweeted the post, adding: “Thank God I messed with your hubby!! It worked out for us both… that scene when your character showed up was such a defining moment for this show. From that point on we had them hooked!!!”

Over on Instagram, Walsh also joined in on the viral "My Plans vs. 2020" meme with perfect Grey’s Anatomy reference. The post even earned a response from Dempsey, who commented with hand-clapping emoji.

Walsh starred on Grey's Anatomy from 2005 to 2007 before leaving the show in season three for the Addison-centric spin-off, Private Practice. The series ran for six seasons and concluded in January 2013.
