Princess Charlotte may be just shy of five years old, but she's been a fashion icon since she could walk. Her mother is the Duchess of Cambridge, after all. But now thanks to Gucci, and creative director Alessandro Michele, this accomplishment is set in stone.
The designer's latest menswear collection, which bucked the traditional gender binary, had models hitting the runway in sweet floral prints, tights, and Mary Janes.
If this sounds familiar, it's because that might as well be Prince William and Kate Middleton's only daughter's signature look. And sure, the puffy sleeved babydoll dress has been worn by many a retro icon (Sharon Tate), and more recent fashion plates a la Courtney Love in the '90s, but thanks to the darling liberty print of most of the dresses, the aesthetic is a clear homage to the four-year-old princess.
And, hey, even if Gucci isn't quite in your budget, you can still take heart. The key to nailing the Princess Charlotte is a smocked floral dress, perhaps a solid-hued cardigan, a bow in your hair, and a pair of darling sandals or sneakers depending on the day. Optional accessory: a soccer ball to kick around with Prince George.
Regardless, the verdict is in: Gucci is the first of many collections that will reference the Princess for years to come. See some of her most stylish moments through her life, here—and her mom Kate Middleton's most fashionable moments here, too.
