Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand goop set to open Toronto pop-up store
Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, goop, is bringing its wellness based pop-up MRKT to Toronto.
The mecca for the latest in health, travel, beauty, food and style has announced plans to open its first pop-up store to The Hazelton Hotel, located in the luxe neighbourhood of Yorkville, from June 7 to September 22.

“We’ve always been in awe of our neighbours to the north, which is why we picked Canada as the first place to launch e-commerce internationally in 2017,” goop’s vice president of retail Melanie Ramer said in a press release. “Since then, we’ve created moments in Montreal and Vancouver, so it felt like the natural next step to activate Toronto with our first goop pop-up shop. We hope locals and travelers alike will enjoy what we have to offer at goop MRKT Toronto.”
The 1300-square foot shop will draw inspiration from the city’s world renowned Toronto International Film Festival, playing with design elements that reflect the ephemerality of a film set.

“Creating the right tone for the pop-up has been an interesting process, a coming together of the psyche of what Toronto is all about with the strong personality of the goop brand, said George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg of Yabu Pushelberg design firm. “If the goop customer lived in Toronto, she would feel differently and live differently than the one in New York or Los Angeles. Each city and each context is unique, and that is the challenge, and the fun.”
The carefully curated “Canada-specific” MKRT will include products from Paltrow’s own lines of apparel and activewear, as well home goods, fashion, beauty, and wellness specialty items from designers such as Kosas, La Californienne and Natalie Martin.
