Hailey Bieber debuts a toasted-blonde hair colour for winter
While it's often the way that darker hair transformations come hand-in-hand with the colder months, Hailey Bieber has gone against the grain with her latest hair colour.
The model has embraced a lighter blonde shade for the festive season, as shared by her hair colourist Matt Rez on his social media. Bieber had swapped her warm brunette hair for a 'bronde' shade back in September, but the she appears to have elevated her hair colour once again, opting for 'midlights' that gave her hair a more uniform, toasted-blonde hue.
"There's a mix of golden brown and honey 'bronde', a perfect harmony of blonde and brown tones," Rez told Bazaar.
Coincidentally, Bieber's new hair has been revealed in the same week that Pantone announced Mocha Mousse as its 'Colour of the Year' for 2025, and it's clear to see that the two share a very similar shade.
Rez shared how he achieved the hair colour that we anticipate will be highly sought-after in the coming months; "I highlighted and 'midlighted' with my technique of blending two colours in for a seamless connection from roots down through lengths," he explains. "The two colours in a special placement creates the most natural, sun-kissed results"
Much like Mocha Mousse, which the executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute Leatrice Eiseman described as "infused with subtle elegance and earthy refinement", Bieber's toasted hair embodies an understated luxury look that perfectly accompanies her immaculate, classic style.
If you're hoping to book in at the hair salon to recreate the look, Rez shares his recommendations of what to request; "Ask for a multi-tonal 'bronde' colour. It requires a couple of different colour formulas being used in the process to create a proper 'bronde' result," he says. "Without the warmer connecting midlights in the mix, brondes and most colours look flat and bounce less light. To get that glowing hair colour, ask for midlights to also be weaved in."
The Rhode founder also has notably longer hair than we're used to seeing her with, having fully grown out her sleek blunt bob. It was apparent that she was looking to change her length after she unveiled a longer, softer cut at Coachella earlier this year which sat just above her shoulders. Her mid-toned blonde hair now falls well past her collarbone, and she's been seen wearing it in an undone, slightly tousled style with very subtle layers.
When it comes to inspiring trends, Bieber's manicures are arguably even more influential than her ongoing evolution of hair styles, having created the cinnamon glazed nail trend, as well as her frosted martini birthday manicure and transitional midnight blue tips in the last few months alone.
