Tide changed the laundry game with Tide To-Go pens and Tide Pods, and now, the future of laundry is here with the launch of Tide Cleaners. The game-changing solution is an out-of-home laundry and dry cleaning service that gives anyone the ability to get clean clothes on-demand using the Tide Cleaners app. “It’s not just a matter of offering convenience, but also the quality and trust that Tide can bring to the table” Sundar Raman, vice president of P&G North American Fabric Care tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average American consumer spends up to 375 hours a year sorting, washing, drying and folding laundry. Tide Cleaners aims to change that with a range of solutions to make getting clean clothes convenient for city-dwellers, college students and suburban families.

So how does the future of laundry work?

Customers in urban neighborhoods can use 24-hour drop boxes available in high-rise apartment buildings, offices and storefronts to leave and pick up laundry and dry cleaning at any time. For students, there’s the on-campus van delivery service, which already exists on over 20 campuses including the University of Alabama, Indiana University and Southern Methodist University.

Suburban dwellers can choose to swing by the 24-hour Tide Cleaner locations. These freestanding locations take care of everything including wash and fold, eco-friendly dry cleaning, alterations, clothing restoration and wedding dress preservation, to name a few services. The majority of the quality and convenience-focused locations are local, family-owned franchises.

“We’re also experimenting within retail stores,” explains Raman of setting up Tide Cleaners inside of grocery stores and big-box retailers. “If we can provide an easy way for people to consolidate their trips or for us to pick-up and drop-off their clothes, people are willing to invest in that convenience to have their clothes cleaned in a way that only Tide can deliver.”

The Tide Cleaners service is currently available in Chicago, Washington D.C., Nashville, Dallas, Denver and Philadelphia. The expansion plan will include as many as 2,000 cities and drop-off locations nationwide by the end of 2020.
