From Town & Country

Following the success of The Haunting of Hill House, showrunner Mike Flanagan signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, alongside his longtime producing partner Trevor Macy—and announced that the seemingly self-contained Hill House would become an anthology series, now called The Haunting.

Now that the second installment—titled The Haunting of Bly Manor and based on the work of Henry James rather than Shirley Jackson—has landed on the streaming service, fans are clamoring for more.

So, will there be a third season of The Haunting? Here's what we know.

Nothing's been confirmed yet.

Flanagan isn't currently at work on a third season, he confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. But he did admit that there's more The Haunting-like stories to be told. "A ghost is an impact from the past on the present in every ghost story," he said, adding, "It changes the trajectory of the person who’s experiencing that little piece of the past... That link between memory and ghosts and between ghosts and the past, that is the lifeblood of the show.

"I feel like there’s no shortage of ghosts in the world for all of us. So, if we could find some common language with which to talk about them, then that’s something we always aspire to do this season or beyond, if that’s the way it goes."

The actors haven't heard anything, either.

Actress Victoria Pedretti, who's been in both seasons thus far, told The Wrap, "I don’t really know anything about future seasons."

Fellow The Haunting veteran Oliver Jackson-Cohen echoed her sentiments, saying, "I think that it’s one of those where, if Bly Manor does well, then I’m sure conversations will happen with Netflix. But it’s entirely up to Mike and entirely up to what ideas he’s got up his sleeve. But I think all of us would definitely collaborate and work with him again, if the opportunity arose. But there is genuinely nothing concrete as of now."
