Like You, Jennifer Aniston Is Super Bummed That the 'Friends' Reunion Is Still Delayed
The HBO Max special has been postponed again.
The Friends reunion can't catch a break. As much as the cast wants to be there for you, Page Six reports that the production has hit another speed bump — and this time, it's not the global pandemic. During an appearance on SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live, Lisa Kudrow addressed rumors that Ellen DeGeneres had been tapped to host the special.
"Is there a host for that? Is Ellen — did I hear that Ellen DeGeneres was hosting the reunion?" Cohen asked.
"Um, you may, I don't know," Kudrow said. "I don't know that that's been decided."

Back in February, the New York Post reported that DeGeneres was the most likely personality to helm the reunion, though it was never confirmed. Since May, DeGeneres has been embroiled in accusations of a toxic work environment on her talk show, with reports of the show's top executives behaving inappropriately coming up in July, and three senior producers getting axed in August.
With DeGeneres understandably busy at the moment — she has said that she'll address all the rumors and speculation about her managerial skills and the behind-the-scenes issues at her show when it returns on September 21 — it's unclear who will moderate the Friends cast as they take viewers into what's sure to be a deluge of nostalgia. In addition to Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer were all set to return to the show's original soundstage for a special one-off episode to coincide with the series streaming on HBO Max.
The production has already been postponed several times because of the pandemic and the near-total shutdown of the entertainment industry. There's still no date set for the special and now that the crew is hunting for a host, it seems Friends fans will have to wait even longer to get their fix.
