Judging From Instagram, It Looks Like Demi‘s GF, Kristian, Is Now Friends With Derek

Demi Burnett is one half of the first same-sex relationship to ever be featured on one of the Bachelor franchise shows, and I just have four words: It’s about damn time. After appearing on Colton’s season, Demi is now one of the contestants on Bachelor in Paradise...and her girlfriend, Kristian, has joined the cast too. Here’s everything we know about this super cute couple so far.

Demi’s girlfriend is Kristian Haggerty.

During the second episode of the third week of Bachelor in Paradise, Demi was having a really hard time deciding between Derek Peth and her girlfriend back home (who we now know is Kristian). Chris Harrison did what he felt was “best for Demi” (read: for ratings, but whatever) and arranged for Kristian to come to Mexico.

She has a pretty cool job.

It’s almost too bad that this isn’t a season of The Bachelorette, because everyone loves an interesting job title. Kristian’s profile says she works in video production and is an ordained minister. We stan a talented love interest!

Here‘s the deal with the Demi, Derek, and Kristian love triangle.

While Demi was chatting with Hannah during the premiere, she said that her relationship with Kristian was not exclusive before Paradise. So she was kind of in the clear to have a little fling with Derek. Buuut she also said that she and Kristian “fell head over heels” for each other, so I guess take that with a grain of salt?

Kristian fully knew that Demi was going to Paradise but was understandably a little rattled when she discovered that she had developed a genuine connection with Derek. Demi really was interested in Derek, but she said that the more time she spent with him, the more she thought about Kristian. So, as of the end of week three, Kristian is staying in Paradise to exclusively date Demi, and Derek is offish single.

It kinda seems like Kristian and Derek are even becoming friends now.

You have to give them credit. Derek, Kristian, and Demi handled this love triangle like full-blown adults. From what has aired so far, it truly looks like everyone was extremely respectful and thoughtful while going through this situation. In fact, Derek’s even out here commenting on Kristian’s Instagram photos...which is obviously a sign of friendship, no?

Derek’s not the only Bachelor franchise alum who is buddy-buddy with Kristian. It looks like she and her sister have been friends with Catherine Agro and her twin for a long time. You know Catherine as the one who brought her Pomeranian to Colton’s season of The Bachelor, LOL. Apparently, she’s the one who introduced Kristian and Demi?

According to Reality Steve, three couples are getting engaged this season, and one of them is Kristian and Demi. We have absolutely no choice but to stan!
