After postponing their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic, James Middleton and Alizee Thevenet married in an intimate ceremony in southeastern France over the weekend.

"Mr & Mrs Middleton ❤️ 🇬🇧 🇫🇷," the groom wrote on social media. "Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village [of] Bormes-les-Mimosas. Words cannot describe how happy I am ❤️."

Kate Middleton's only brother had confirmed his engagement to Alizee Thevenet, a French financial expert living in London, in fall 2019. "She said OUI," he wrote in a sweet Instagram post of the two of them.

The pair met in the summer of 2018, per the Daily Mail. After that, their relationship progressed quickly, vacationing in St. Barth's alongside Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews, and attending Lady Gabriella Windsor's royal wedding at Windsor Castle.

Here's what we know about the wedding so far:

It was an intimate event.

In an interview with the Telegraph, James said that he and Alizee are "a pretty relaxed couple." At the time, James seemed to indicate that the wedding would be a small event. "That’s probably what we will end up doing," he said, adding, "I’ve had enough of big weddings!" Indeed, the nuptials appear to have been quite intimate.

Royals are believed to have been in attendance.

At Pippa Middleton's 2017 wedding, the Duke and Duchess of Cambrdige were of course in attendance, as was Prince Harry (and his then-girlfriend, Meghan Markle, reportedly joined him for the reception). Princess Eugenie also made an appearance.

At this point, it's unclear which members of the royal family were there to witness Middleton's big day, but it's a safe bet that Will and Kate were there for the special moment. That said, the Duke and Duchess have yet to publicly congratulate the bride and groom.

Middleton's dogs were involved.

James Middleton is inseparable from his "pack" of five adorable pups, whom he carts around London in a special "dog bike" contraption. He's been known to refer to himself as their dog dad—even celebrating father's day as such—and even recently brought one of his canine children as his date on the red carpet.

And the dogs appear to have been present for Middleton and Thevenet's big day, even photobombing the image the happy couple chose to share on social media.
