Here's What Ree Drummond's Daughter Alex and Alex's Husband Mauricio Do for Work

Alex and Mauricio got married on the ranch in May and it was such a beautiful event. Their wedding was filled with delicious food, sentimental speeches, dreamy flower arrangements, and lots of dancing and fun. After the super-fun celebration, the newlyweds traveled to their tropical honeymoon in the Maldives to enjoy some much-needed R&R as a young married couple.

Now, Alex and Mauricio are enjoying life as a married couple in their home in Dallas, Texas. With the big day behind them, their new normal includes doing dishes, making tacos, traveling, debating laundry habits, sipping on ranch waters, and, of course, working.

Speaking of which: What do Alex and Mauricio do for work?

"I feel like because I post a lot of Instagram stories and stuff during the day people are like, 'Do you guys work? What do you guys do?'" Alex said during the latest episode of #AskAlex. "So I wanted to take a second to tell you guys what we're up to these days."

She went on to explain that she now works for Ree and The Pioneer Woman, after initially working for a Dallas-based consulting firm for one year post graduation. In addition to helping her mom with filming of her Food Network show, she works on photo shoots for The Pioneer Woman products and apparel, helps toward marketing efforts, and generally pitches in whenever the need arises.

While Mauricio has been known to pull a prank or two on the set of The Pioneer Woman, he actually has a full-time (and then some) job for a technology consulting company. Ree explains, "Mauricio works pretty hard, because he has clients on the west coast and often has meetings and calls late into the evening due to the time zone difference. He's a hard worker!

Although Mauricio's office is located in Dallas and Alex's boss (Ree!) lives in Oklahoma, they both work remotely.

"I'll probably work remote most of the time, unless I'm in Pawhuska filming or assisting with photo shoots or other things that need my hands-on support," Alex explains. "My mom's work is pretty busy, so every day there are new experiences and tasks. And Mauricio's been working remote ever since last March, so we both are just home all day together. But we haven't gotten sick of each other yet!"

We'll chalk that up as a marriage win!

As for Ree's job review of her first-born child: "It wasn't a foregone conclusion that Alex would work for me after college," she explains. "But once Covid happened and I had to pivot to doing so many things at home, she was spending so much time helping me with my various projects---and doing such a good job---that it made sense to make it full time. One thing's for sure: Alex's job is never boring! 😂 There's always something going on!"
