The countdown to Black Friday is on, and Walmart Canada is sharing how you can make your shopping experience as smooth as possible this year.
Whether you’re planning to hit the stores bright and early or would rather browse through deals from the comfort of your own home, take a look at some of their top tips to prepare for Black Friday at Walmart.
What you need to know
In case you need a reminder, Black Friday this year falls on Nov. 29, with many retailers offering extended sales so you won’t miss out on savings. Walmart is no exception, and ahead of the big day you’ll be able to shop deals through Walmart.ca as early as 9 p.m. EST on November 28.
Just a few days later, you’ll also find huge savings on Dec. 2, when Walmart.ca will be releasing even more exclusive deals online.
The biggest deals you can expect
You’ll want to take note if you’re looking for deals on electronics, which will be a big focus this year. Sign up to receive weekly emails to be the first to know when your favourite TVs, laptops, small appliances, and audio all go on sale.
As well as keeping your eyes peeled for early deals through email, it’s also a good idea to stay on top of the latest announcements through social media to make sure you don’t miss a thing.
Don’t forget to shop smart
In the heat of the moment, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by choices when you’re shopping. To help curb impulse buys, Walmart is also sharing a few top tips to make sure you find exactly what you’re looking for this Black Friday, no matter where you decide to shop.
Set a budget
If you’re looking to stay on budget, give yourself an allowance ahead of time, and separate items into must-haves and nice-to-haves so you don’t end up going overboard on sale items.
Plan Ahead
If you’ll be shopping online, be sure to fill your cart ahead of time to put together a selection of items to watch. That way, when the deals go live, you’ll already have everything together and can beat the rush to the checkout.
Get up and out early
Plan on waking up early (or staying up late) to get a head start on the items on your list before they sell out, or things get overcrowded in-store.
Bring a friend
As much fun as shopping alone can be, going with a friend is even better! Bringing someone along is a great way to get opinions, and to keep your spending in check.
Know the return policy
Before you buy anything, be sure to inquire about the return policy if you're not 100 per cent certain that you’ll keep everything. Bonus tip: don't forget to ask for gift receipts!
