Men in Iran are wearing hijabs to support women

In Iran, wearing a headscarf or a hijab is compulsory for women for modesty reasons. Even visitors to the Republic are expected to wear one when in the country, and not doing so or exposing your hair is punishable by fines or imprisonment.

Lately however, women haven’t been the only ones wearing the hijab. Men have also started to don the headscarf in a display of solidarity. Some are even posting pictures of themselves with their hijabs on social media, tagging them #MenInHijab.
