Santa Clarans, bow down to your Mayor! On Wednesday, as Beyoncé performed at Levi’s Stadium for her Renaissance World Tour, the singer celebrated being named honorary mayor of Santa Clara.

“Y’all’s faces are so beautiful. You know today’s special because today I am the mayor,” she told the crowd, adding, “This is my gratitude tour. I don’t take any of this for granted. I know after 25 years I’m still able to do what I love, and it’s because of your loyalty and because of your prayers.”

The singer also shared several carousels of photos from her night in the Bay Area on Instagram, including an image of herself posing next to a giant key to the City of Santa Clara, which designated her as the “honorary mayor” thanks to her Renaissance World Tour stop.

“Say hey Mayor Carter!” read another slide, making reference to her song “Partition.”

Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, accepted the distinction on behalf of the singer during a Santa Clara city council meeting on Tuesday.

“To all who made the decision to honor here in Santa Clara and in the state of California,” she said during the meeting. “I have worked with Beyoncé now for close to 27 years and it gives me great joy to see her still being recognized for her contribution to the arts and society at large.”

Noel-Schure added: “She has spent a great amount of time honing her craft, not just to create memorable anthems around the world, but also mantras to boost confidence to get the strength to get up in the morning.”

Beyoncé is scheduled to perform next in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium on Sept. 1, 2, and Sept. 4, her birthday. She still has Renaissance shows in Vancouver, Seattle, Arlington, New Orleans, Kansas City, and her native Houston.
