Hilary Duff Says Sex Was "Not Interesting" During Her Last Pregnancy
When she was pregnant with her second child, Hilary Duff said that she looked at sex as a "helpful-slash-fun tool" to stay connected to her husband, Matthew Koma, but during an appearance on the Informed Pregnancy Podcast, she explained that things changed with her third pregnancy. Speaking to Dr. Elliot Berlin, Duff said that she was just "not interested" in sex during her pregnancy with new baby Mae James, who she and Koma welcomed on March 24.
"Sex really was not interesting for me at all this time around," she said. "So toward the end, where with Banks that felt like a really helpful-slash-fun tool, this time I was like, 'Nope, not for me.' It annoyed me majorly when people would say, 'You know what really gets things started?' I'm like, 'Nope!' Poor Matt, but maybe not. Maybe he was like, 'This is for the better right now.'"

Duff noted that her lack of sex drive made her think that she would be having a boy. Contrasted with what she felt while carrying daughter Banks, it seemed to make sense to her. But, she realized that the shift may have more to do with the fact that she was a mom of two expecting a third.
"I thought I was having a boy because with Banks I was totally down, and with this baby, I was like ... I don't know if it was maybe having more kids and trying to keep up with everybody that just made it kind of at night feeling exhausted and just really not a ton of time," she added. "I felt like a little more protective of my body this time around."
Duff and Koma share two children together: daughters Banks and Mae. She also has a son, Luca Cruz, from her previous relationship with hockey player Mike Comrie.
