H&M announces collaboration with Giambattista Valli at Cannes gala
One of the biggest names in fashion is lending their creative vision to H&M for a limited edition collaboration.
The Swedish fashion retailer has enlisted Giambattista Valli to create an affordable collection of clothes and accessories to be sold in select stores and online at hm.com.

H&M announced the pairing that will officially launch in November of this year but is offering shoppers the chance to purchase a “pre-drop” of a select few items on May 25th.
In what’s being called “Project Love” the Italian-born designer’s signature look of layers of tulle and lace for all “Valli girls.” Ranging from $18 US to $649, the collection marks the first time Valli has tried his hand at men’s fashion.
“The thing that makes me most happy in life is if I can make someone happy. It’s beautiful if I can do that for a wider group of Valli girls and Valli boys.” Valli said in an interview with Vogue. “It was very fun to do men’s for the first time. You know, girls pick up things from men’s wardrobes. The Valli boys get prints, some shapes, some materials, and some embellishments from girls—they took it from her wardrobe.”

The exciting new partnering was revealed at the 2019 amFar Cannes Gala to benefit AIDS research.
Several stars arrived as Valli’s guests, sporting pieces from the H&M pre-drop including Kendall Jenner and blogger, Chiara Ferragni, who wore a $599 CAD lace gown from the collection, and a pair of $249 CAD heels made from pink metallic laminated leather.
“I love to be in that moment getting ready, having fun, having a good time,” Valli said of showcasing the designs at the Cannes gala. “Lee Radziwill used to say to me, ‘You know, Giambattista, happy times are very few in life. You must enjoy them.’”
