The long-awaited Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, is finally ready to hit screens this summer after much anticipation. Relative newcomer Emily Carey stars alongside The Crown and Doctor Who star Matt Smith in the HBO series, and she’s already got the leading-lady red carpet dressing down to a tee.

Despite House of the Dragon being Carey’s first starring role (the actor had a number of small roles on TV and in theatres before landing the role of a young Alicent Hightower), she looked every bit a star at the film's European premiere red carpet on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old Brit took to the red carpet in the Netherlands in a silky, forest green dress with a racy cut-out detail at the midriff.

Perhaps in a subtle nod to the costumes of both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, the Prier de Saône dress featured a puffed sleeve and a square neckline, albeit with a revealing cut out that wouldn’t be seen in Westeros.

The long-sleeved dress stopped under the bust to reveal a cut-out detail across her midriff, which featured a band across her waist and a drop at the side, revealing a diamanté-encrusted thong strap that sat on show on her hip.

The cut-out detailing revealed the actor’s belly button piercing, which she coordinated with the diamanté strap and her glistening diamond jewels.

The actor slicked back her dark brunette hair into a sleek bun, and matched the outfit with a pair of barely-there silver heels.

The 19-year-old joined co-star Matt Smith, 39, who looked dapper in a grey suit, and the rest of the cast as they posed up a storm on the red carpet at the Amsterdam premiere ahead of the show's long-awaited release.

Carey opted for a furry Givenchy look at the Los Angeles premiere that would make Daenerys Targaryen proud, but chose a modern cobalt blue Milo Maria shiny trousers and knitted vest combination for the cast's panel during 2022 Comic Con International: San Diego in July.

The ten-episode spin-off show – created by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin– focuses on House Targaryen and their reign in Westeros 200 years before the events portrayed in Game of Thrones, and will include the brutal civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

The HBO series, based on Martin’s Fire & Blood, will be available to stream on HBO and HBO Max from 21 August.
