Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Are "Devastated" Over Their Separation
"They’ll always be co-parents and best friends."
Over the weekend, another celebrity couple broke hearts all over the world. Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-lee, announced their separation after 27 years of marriage. Now, an inside source is letting fans know that it was not an easy decision for the couple to make. In fact, Hugh and Deborra-lee are "devastated" and the split has been "very hard" on both of them.
"It was not a snap decision — they took a lot of time and consideration of everything, and they made this decision together," the source told People. "They are going on separate journeys, but they will always be a family. They’ll always be co-parents and best friends."
The insider added that the breakup is completely amicable. "This has nothing to do with anything other than the fact that they’re on different journeys right now," the source said.
On Friday, the couple shared a statement with the outlet announcing their split. "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” they said. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."
"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness," they continued. "We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
The two first met back in 1995 on the set of Australian TV show Correlli and shortly thereafter tied the knot in Apr. 1996. They share two kids together, son Oscar and daughter Ava.
