Hunter Biden laughs at 'wildly comical' attacks by Donald Trump Jr.

Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, joined Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday where he spoke about a wide range of subjects, including the repeated attacks by Donald Trump Jr.. Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, has suggested on multiple occasions that Biden has only been given various prestigious positions because of his name, failing to see the irony in those attacks. But Biden sees the humor.

“Does it make you crazy when you hear someone like Donald Trump Jr. saying that the only reason he does — is because he’s a Biden, and because of his last name? And how just wildly comical that is?” Kimmel asked. “It is. It is wildly comical,” Biden answered. “That’s putting it lightly.”

In his new memoir, Beautiful Things, Biden shot back, challenging the Trump children to find jobs on their own, not using their famous last name. But it wasn’t just Donald Trump Jr. who spread the narrative that Biden wasn’t qualified for his various positions. Many in conservative media echoed that sentiment, particularly when it came to Biden’s position on the board at Ukrainian energy company Burisma. But on Thursday, Biden showed off his credentials.

“I went to Yale law school. I served on at least a dozen boards before Burisma,” Biden said. “I was Vice Chairman of the Board of Amtrak. I was Chairman of the Board at World Food Program U.S., supporting the largest humanitarian organization in the world. I had an expertise in corporate governance. I was asked to serve on the board for corporate governance.”

Even though a congressional inquiry led by Republicans found no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden, his position at Burisma became an easy target for Republicans throughout the presidential campaign, when accusations of corruption were constantly hurled at President Biden and Hunter. For that reason, Biden said he would not accept the position if he had it to do over again.

“I was a lawyer at Boise, Schiller and Flexner, which was how I was first approached,” Biden said. “However, what I didn't take into account was the way in which they would use the perception against my dad. And for that, I wouldn’t do it again, for that reason.”

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on ABC.
