Woman leaves boyfriend clueless with ingenious at-home prank: ‘This is pure evil’

A new prank is going viral on TikTok, and creating some embarrassing moments for clueless boyfriends and girlfriends.

The stunt is inspired by an iconic scene in the 2007 Disney Channel movie, “High School Musical 2.” During that pivotal moment, Gabriella and Troy — the film’s main characters — essentially break up while singing a song called “Gotta Go My Own Way.”

On TikTok, the consequences are far more temporary — and way more hilarious. The prank begins with one person convincing their significant other to record a lip-syncing rendition of the duet, while both of them stand on opposite sides of an opened door.

Then, just as their boyfriend or girlfriend starts passionately mouthing the lyrics, the prankster “goes their own way” — leaving the room as their significant other unknowingly sings to no one.

Several versions of the prank have gone viral, but one clip, by a user named Alexsa1212, might rise above the rest. In it, the TikToker lip-syncs all of three words before completely exiting the frame, leaving her unaware boyfriend to carry on by himself.

Alexsa1212’s video has earned more than 5.7 million views, plus thousands of comments praising her ingenious and “hilarious” prank.

“This is pure evil I love it,” one user wrote.

“This is why I have trust issues,” another commented.

Others simply seemed charmed by the idea, complimenting both the TikToker and her boyfriend’s commitment to the song.

“This is so cute,” one commenter wrote.

“It’s ok bro, i’d be hella passionate too,” another joked.
