I wish I'd known about this deal sooner.

If you look through my drawers (very personal, but for the sake of this story, use your imagination!), you’ll notice a pattern. I love bodysuits, and I own a slew of fitted options from Spanx and Wolford that I wear pretty much every day. I’m obsessed with Skims’ tank tops, which I think are the most flattering in the world. And I love white tees; it’s a staple that everyone needs multiples of, and while there are quite literally hundreds to choose from, the best (IMO) that’s just…$5 thanks to Amazon's Early Cyber Monday sale. And no, that’s not a typo.

Here’s some important information: I’ve tried so many white tees, some designer picks that are obviously pretty pricey, some more low-key brands, and most are pretty good. They’re comfy (a must), wash well, and have a flattering fit. But, one day, I was scrolling through Amazon and saw this Hanes find, which I was then curious to try. It arrived fast, thanks to Prime (!!!), and the second I tried it on, I knew it was the best white T-shirt I’ve ever tried. Seriously.

I know you’re probably thinking, “But Eva, a white tee is just a white tee.” And I get it, because I thought the same, until I really started testing a bunch of different brands and realized just how different they can be. That said, this $5 Hanes find is a ten in all categories, from fit to price (obviously!), and that’s why I’m stocking up while it’s majorly marked down.

First and foremost, I look for a high-quality tee that’s not see-through, and this Hanes option isn’t. The 100-percent cotton material feels really durable but still lightweight enough that it’s an all-season staple (I tested it in the fall, but I can easily see it wearing in the summer). I also wore a light-pink bra underneath, and you couldn’t see anything, not even under very bright lighting. Love!

Of course, I also prefer a tee that’s a bit more fitted; I like an oversized style, but typically tend to favor a fitted, easy-to-layer option that looks great on its own, as well as under sweaters, blazers, and leather jackets. This one does, and that’s a huge plus for me. I wore it to the office under a sweater, but when it got too toasty, I threw the knit over my shoulders and let the tee stand on its own. I did, in fact, get compliments for it. When I said, “Thanks, it’s Hanes,” people were very shocked—in the best way, of course.

Pro tip: I sized down in this. While I’m always a true medium, I opted for small because I wanted it to be more fitted, and it was perfect—not too tight nor too loose.
