Influencer Says Her Favorite Salad Recipe Almost Cost Her the Tip of Her Finger: A 'Traumatic Accident'
"I still continue to eat it every day for four days in a row," said Meredith Hayden — a private chef who goes by @WishboneKitchen on TikTok — of the meal
Now, that would be an unappetizing salad topping.
One influencer nearly suffered a major accident while filming a routine cooking video. In a TikTok video shared on Wednesday, Dec. 11, Meredith Hayden — who goes by @WishboneKitchen on the social media platform — details that she nearly cut the top of her finger off while making what she calls her "Christmas confetti salad."
"This is the salad that caused me to almost lose my finger," Hayden says at the start of the clip, carrying a salad bowl in one hand and holding up her other to the camera to show her bandaged finger.
"Despite this traumatic accident, I still continue to eat it every day for four days in a row," continues the influencer of the meal.
The salad, which Hayden says is perfect for "all winter long," features radicchio, shaved Brussels sprouts, fried cranberries, Marcona almonds, roast chicken and goat cheese and is topped with an apple cider vinaigrette and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
The injury likely came from Hayden thinly slicing the salad's various ingredients into shreds to make them look like pieces of confetti.
"Cheers to having all 10 of my fingers!" she quips at the end of the clip before taking a big bite of her creation.

Hayden spoke to PEOPLE in 2022 about her culinary journey and the family member who inspired it most.
"The inspiration behind me getting into cooking has always been my mom. She was a fabulous cook growing up. And once a week, she would make us a roast chicken for dinner, and she would always save the wishbone when she would carve the chicken," Hayden said.
"And after dinner, we would do the thing where you pull the wishbone in half, and whoever gets the bigger half gets to make a wish. I just have really fond memories of being in the kitchen with my mom," she continued.
As for how she selects her recipes, Hayden told PEOPLE, "I'll usually just pick out recipes that are fresh, and easy to make, but not too simple."
