How to find Instagram’s hidden ‘reject folder’

Apparently, people are just finding out that Instagram has a “hidden reject folder” where you can see every account that’s ignored your follow request.

And typically, people could find out if their follow request was ignored by revisiting the person’s profile. If their profile still says “Requested,” it means they haven’t accepted nor rejected you. If their profile says “Follow” again, it’s likely they’ve rejected your request.

But it’s hard to keep track of everyone you’ve tried to follow — until now. You can actually view a list of Instagram accounts that have ignored you and can even opt to retract your follow request.

According to The Sun, which reported the find on Oct. 18, it’s a pretty straightforward process to access the list.

How to find your reject folder:

  1. Go to your Profile, go into Menu and then click Settings

  2. In Settings, tap Security and go into Access Data

  3. Scroll down the Data page and find the Connections section

  4. From there, click Current Follow Requests

To revoke a follow request, you have to go to the individual’s profile and cancel the request there. This hack only works on the Instagram mobile app, not desktop.
