Instagram’s Latest Update Could Totally Spice Up Your Feed

Instagram just made it a whole lot easier to populate your feed with things you’re actually interested in.

The social networking site just launched its latest update, and while it’s no super zoom feature, it definitely comes in handy when it comes to exploring new relevant communities. Instagram revealed Tuesday that it launched the ability to follow hashtags to help Instagrammers discover more posts from the interests and communities they care about, right in their feeds.

When you go to a hashtag page now, you can tap “follow” to start seeing top posts from that hashtag in your feed, and some of the latest stories from it in your stories bar too. That means searching for those #millennialpink or #streetstyle hashtags will be a lot easier, given that you can follow hashtags related to whatever trend you desire.

The best part about the launch is that your feed won’t be overloaded with hashtag accounts just because you follow a certain hashtag. Instead, you’ll see posts from that hashtag on only about eight to 10 photos, so posts from people and companies you follow will still be prioritized.

It’s safe to say Christmas came early for Instagrammers.
