The order also prohibits Evans from mentioning the Fantastic Four actor on social media.
Gruffudd had previously won a temporary restraining order Evans after claiming that she was inundating him with messages and sending him threats.
The pair have two children together. Ella who is 12 and Elsie who is 8. They announced their split in January 2021.
A judge in the US increased the strictness of the order, with Evans now prevented from leaking text messages from their children.
In new court documents, Gruffudd said Evans was continuing to cause him issues and called on the court to stop her from posting about him on social media.
The order also covers Gruffudd's current girlfriend Bianca Wallace.
He requested that Evans shall not post his text messages or any other communications to the parties’ children, or the children’s text messages or any other communications to Ioan, on any social media account.
Gruffudd also says in the documents that since the initial order was put in place Evans "has used her social media accounts to continue to harass, threaten, and disturb the peace of both me and my girlfriend, Bianca Wallace".
Evans has previously publicly accused Gruffudd of attempting to "silence" her through the courts. She has also said she has "no money" for legal representation.
She also said she was "completely out of money for food and bills".
The couple formally announced their split in the March of 2021 though court records show they separated three months earlier.
Like Gruffudd, Evans is an actor and they met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000 before marrying seven years later.
Evans has also appeared in The Vampire Diaries and three episodes of Lost but has largely not acted since the birth of her second child.
