Isla Fisher is giving a whole new meaning to the phrase, “New Year, new you.”
The actress celebrated 2019 by debuting a bold new look on Instagram, trading in her trademark red hair for newly dyed blond locks.
A barely recognizable Fisher captioned the sultry snap, “Go blonde in ’19 or go home.”
Fans were shocked by the transformation.
“You were beautiful as a fellow ginger but as a blond all I can say is, ‘How you doin?,'” One approving follower wrote.
While the look received a lot of praise, some followers weren’t fans — and didn’t hold back when making their feelings known.
“Stay blond and stay home,” one disapproving fan commented.
“I loved your natural looks,” a male fan said. “Now you look like you’re wearing two different peoples lengths of hair. Bad extensions and a colour downgrade.”
Another wrote, “I don’t know who you are but give me my Isla back and nobody gets hurt!”
This isn’t the first time Fisher has sported lighter locks. The star rocked wavy blond hair in an early role as Mary Jane in the 2002 film “Scooby Doo.”
While it has yet to be revealed if the star’s latest look is for a role, most fans remember Fisher for her comedic timing and fiery red locks in 2005’s “Wedding Crashers.”
The role catapulted Fisher to stardom, however the actor and mother-of-three has said her signature hair colour often lead to fans confusing her for other Hollywood redheads, particularly, Amy Adams.
Last year, Fisher appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and created her own public service announcements putting the confusion to rest.
“Amy Adams hair is auburn red hair, my hair is light auburn red. Amy Adams has five Oscar nominations… I am a member of SAG.” Fisher said dramatically. “We have totally different names; hence we are totally different people, It’s really not that confusing. I’m also not Wendy from the hamburger commercials. Please, I’m Isla Fisher.”
