Is Ivanka Trump's Viral Dance Video Just a PR Stunt?
As an adviser to the president of the United States, a businesswoman, and a mother of three children, Ivanka Trump wears many hats in her life.
The elder daughter of President Trump recently shared a snippet of her home life on her Facebook account, posting a video of her dancing with her sons, Joseph and Theodore.
Alongside the adorable clip, Trump wrote that “little moments matter, especially for working moms!! #TBT to an after-work dance party with my boys.” She also mentioned her new book, Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success, in the caption.

The post was met with many positive comments from users who loved the video.
One commenter questioned why Ivanka Trump was using her social platform to promote her new book.
Comments on her Instagram post, responding to the same video, echoed a similar sentiment. While many authors use their social media presences to heavily promote their projects, critics often question Trump’s actions because of her role in the White House — and her role as a public figure.
A recent New York Times article, titled “Ivanka Trump Has the President’s Ear. Here’s Her Agenda,” states that when Trump was developing her “Women Who Work” brand, she was told to post more family-related content.
“An internal document lists one of her challenges as ‘perceived as rich and unrelatable.’ [An additional one: Most of her followers on social media were men.] Trump was told to post more down-to-earth pictures on her Instagram feed — less made-up model, more mommy,” the article reads.
The president of the Ivanka Trump brand, Abigail Klem, also said that Trump was initially leery about posting photos of her kids on Instagram. “We certainly had conversations about whether it was OK to put her kids on social media, and we felt it was important to show who she was as a whole person,” Klem told the New York Times.
The reason behind her dancing post is debatable. What’s not: the fact that people love seeing bits of her family life.
