Ivanka Trump wears $2,690 tartan dress made in Italy to the State of the Union

Before the State of the Union, some of President Donald Trump’s children — Eric, Ivanka, and Tiffany — along with Eric’s wife, Lara, Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, and Jared and Ivanka’s two older kids, Arabella, 6, and Joseph, 4, “had a little family dinner together.”

Ivanka shared a video, presumably from her home in Washington, D.C., on social media, showing the gathering getting ready ahead of the president’s address on Capitol Hill.

For the event, the presidential daughter wore a $2,690 Oscar de la Renta dress, which she showed off in an Instagram video promoting the broadcast.

The asymmetric cotton-blend tweed midi dress is from an American brand but was made in Italy. According the product’s description, the piece is “instantly modern and cool” thanks to its vibrant color palette and frayed trims.

The traditional houndstooth and tartan patterned dress is a much different style than what Ivanka chose to wear to her father’s first address to a joint session of Congress.

The $2,995 Roland Mouret sheath was widely criticized on social media for its bra strap feature. One user even noted that it looked like she was going to the club.
