Jamie Lee Curtis Shared a New Selfie With Lindsay Lohan While Teasing a 'Freaky Friday' Sequel
"Hopefully we can switch places again in the near future!"
It's been so long since Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis starred opposite of each other in Freaky Friday (20 years to be exact), that we nearly gave up hope for a sequel. But last night, something truly freaky happened: Lohan and Curtis reunited while also teasing a possible return back to the big screen together.
On Friday, of all days, Curtis shared a sweet selfie with Lohan on Instagram, writing in the caption, "Too late. YOU GREW UP and SO BEAUTIFULLY!" She then hinted at the possibility of sequel to the 2003 film now that SAG-AFTRA strike has ended, adding: "Well, it's Friday, and the strike is over so hopefully, we can switch places again in the near future! @lindsaylohan @disney."
While Lohan didn't directly comment on Jamie's post, she previously spoke about the possibility of working with her movie mom again. "I love Jamie. I would definitely love to work together again, and we have spoken so we will see," Lohan told Entertainment Tonight back in November 2022. "I think when you work with such incredible people, you always want to have a chance to work with them again, especially when so much time has passed. And to share those experiences and bring something great back to life for a new audience to see and a different generation, I think it's just the best."

Several months later, Jamie took the conversation a step further, revealing that she talked to Disney about making a follow-up film. "As I went around the world with Halloween Ends, people wanted to know if there was going to be another Freaky Friday. Something really touched a chord," she said while speaking with The New York Times. "When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, 'It feels like there’s a movie to be made.'"
As for what the new movie could look like, Jamie shared her thoughts during an appearance on The View. "Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon," she explained. "And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today's world, as an old lady."
