Jamie Otis Reveals She's Having a Baby Girl
After suffering a devastating miscarriage four months into her first pregnancy, Married at First Sight star Jamie Otis is pregnant once again, and just learned she is expecting a baby girl. Otis and her husband, Doug Hehner, told People they were happily surprised, but mostly just happy Otis is having a healthy pregnancy so far.
"I was so shocked," Otis told the magazine. "I was pretty certain it was another boy. If you follow the old wives' tales, I had no symptoms of [having a] girl." Otis has publicly written about having a tough relationship with her own mother, so she said she's excited to have another shot at a good mother-daughter bond. "Get ready for all the Mommy & Me matching outfits and twinning!" she wrote on Instagram. "I cannot contain my excitement-I was so shocked and I'm just so, so, so happy!"
In February, Otis and Hehner announced they were expecting a "rainbow baby," and did so before the first trimester was over, even though the risk of miscarriage drops after the first few months. "I would rather focus on the excitement of having the baby," Jamie told Woman's Day at the time. "Whether this baby grows or not, I love it and want to share it for as long as he or she is here."
Their gender reveal party was aired on FYI's Married Life, a spinoff of Married at First Sight, the show that brought them together in the first place. And Otis even broadcast her reaction to the show on her Facebook page:
